    Overview

The development of Information Technology (IT) has changed the way people live. The IT industry has become one of the most important industries in the global economy. The Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering was established to cultivate and nurture students with the necessary knowledge and talents to meet the demands of the IT industry.

The Department focuses on the cultivation and development of talent that are dedicated to advancing information engineering through innovation and collaboration. In order to improve students’ competitive edge in the professional sector, the Department requires students to obtain two international certifications in information technology-related subjects. In terms of technical skills, the Department has made the application of internet multimedia, integrated circuit system design, and interdisciplinary expertise the three main pillars of research and development.

    Our Goals

The goal of the Department is to train students to possess the following four abilities: 1) to acquire professional and practical knowledge in information technology; 2) to utilize innovative and creative skillsets in their thought process to solve problems; 3) to engage the IT industry with dedication and open-mindedness; 4) to be able to communicate and collaborate with others efficiently. The strategic plan to further promote the advancements of students in the Department is as follows: upon graduation, each student is required to master one core competency, obtain two certifications, acquire three sets of professional skills, and possess four capabilities in their fields of interest. The combination of these four goals allows students to develop international capabilities that seamlessly connect with global standards in the field of information engineering, as well as gain the competitive edge needed to strive in the highly competitive IT industry and future industries. The goal of the Department is to nurture and cultivate talent to ensure that students have the following abilities:

    1)      To acquire professional and practical knowledge in information technology

The Department strives to impart information engineering-related knowledge and skills that meet the requirements of the industry. In particular, students are trained to possess the expertise in the application of internet and multimedia signaling systems. Furthermore, students are encouraged to advance their studies through self-study and self-reflection as a means to improve their self-confidence.

    2)      To utilize innovative and creative skillsets in their thought process to solve problems, and to be able to communicate and collaborate with others efficiently
